I realized this after BLM was co-opted by companies in the most insincere, almost ironic way, only to shit out infantilizing videos and training sessions about “what being racist to your coworker looks like”. Almost like they were trying to fan flames instead of actually address a social issue.
Capitalism has no moral force. It absorbs and assimilates robust, obstinate cultures and spits out empty shells. LGBTQ+ never had an ally in capitalism.

The ‘former gifted kid’ discourse is so sad to me. Schools cater to the lowest performers, kids on grade level get told they are just “really smart” instead of an education. Now those kids are adults and feel shame that ‘they used to be smart’ instead of realizing that the the school let them down.

Just to say this very clearly: the arrest and detention of Mahmoud Khalil was a horrifying new step forward in US fascism + we should be (and are) in the streets for him. The fact that it was legally justifiable does not make it ok, and I am not ok with it. I just want you to know how bad the law is
Just FYI arresting a greencard holder for otherwise 1A-protected protest, overnighting him to a private detention facility in central Louisiana, & holding him w/o bond pending review of his status by an immigration judge can all be easily justified by law which has been in effect for 20 years
