my cosplayer tip is that big project goals are a great way to get anxietied out of trying a new hobby- you can buy an outfit/wig and dress up and that's cosplay! if there are things you're excited to make that that'd cheat you out of, you can just make those and buy the rest! don't get overwhelmed
