It’s not directly impacting you, right? We see you. We know who’s on our side and who isn’t. This isn’t a disability issue. This is a humanity issue.

Email your MP. Join the protests both online and offline and most importantly check on your disabled friends because we are not OK.

Nearly 5836 jobs listed on the government website. If you add a filter of Disability Confident that drops to 1364, then add fully remote and you're down to 13. Employers don't want to employ or make provision for disabled people.

A reminder - they are going after #DisabilityBenefits cos they are terrified of their donors and the right-wing press, not because you have done anything wrong.

Sending so much love to my fellow disabled people today, we’re absolutely terrified.

Please switch off the news if you need to, block certain words/phrases on social media and reach out to friends, family or @samaritans.bsky.social if you need to talk.

#IWD feels harder than ever.

We are dying at the hands of men every day.
Rape is used as an act of war.
Disabled women are 3 times more likely to face domestic violence.
Men with huge platforms are freely talking about choking us.

We are so far from accepted.

Appallingly tough day but turned around by books* and the love of a Good Man** and wine***.

* Finished Rebecca. Instant love. Instant top 3 ever. Started Practice by Rosalind Brown and adoring it.

** Adam.

I’ve got a £25 Amazon voucher. The obvious is books but I’m currently losing my mind because I’ve realised I can buy…

Olive oil!

Absolutely buzzing.

What would you spend a £25 Amazon voucher on?

New article arriving at 330pm about why we need to engrave our imagination more as adults.

Shares appreciated 💋

(We’re going to ignore the 11 month hiatus, ok? I have ADHD. Good things take time 😉 )

I'm not sure yet if this site has the same community of #freelance writers eager to hear a #callforpitches as the other side, but let's see if we can't find out.

For the gazillionth time, if you really want to get the disabled people who could be working into jobs you are going to have to:

Fix social care
Reform Access To Work
Beef up anti-discrimination laws
Make transport accessible

But you don't want to do that, do you?

I’m so used to the insomnia / sleep disturbances with #MECFS that I’ve got a recipe for making the most of it.

- Get cosy in bed
- Listen to white noise city sounds
- Daydream of alternative cool girl Hollie who lives without illness in New York

Genuinely comforts me during the long nights 🤍

related but opposite fun fact: if you click on any google ad for an etsy item and buy anything from that store in the next 30 days, it costs the creator 12-15% on top of standard fees. so if you see something cool..... don't click, type it in
Fun fact: if you're buying from a creator on etsy, you can reduce their etsy selling fees from 6.5% to 2.5% by ordering via 'shopname.etsy.com' instead of 'etsy.com/shopname' or searching from the main site. It costs you the same but the creator makes more

Very strong few days working on the novel. Actually liking what I’m writing, too. Weird.

Writers- when/how do you work best? For me it’s afternoons, romantic jazz music, candles on, maybe a glass of Pinot noir or a cava. Sounds twee and cringe but I am twee and cringe.

This is terrifying. Disabled people are statistically more likely to face physical, mental and emotional abuse. The fact these people had the extra vulnerability of being asylum seekers & the outcome could’ve been so much worse had he not been found out.

2025 ins:

- Prioritising serenity: evening hobby time, weekend walks by the sea, cat cuddles
- Journalling with no rules
- Water as our first morning drink
- Daily outdoor time: I struggle with this as someone with ME who can be bedbound but even opening the window counts in this instance
