@thebulwark.com I hate to be that guy, but this WSJ Trump letter looks a lot like it’s a self-plant. Trump will sue Murdoch and they will settle with a retraction, thereby making anything else that is Trump in the files suspect.

This is some grade A, Big Beautiful BS from ssa.gov when in fact, roughly 90% of seniors this bill was designed to protect from being taxed on their Social Security already paid little to no federal tax on those benefits before its enactment. (“Fast Facts & Figures About Social Security, 2023” -SSA)

This is particularly disheartening & do not suggest that being more centrist (as people have been saying) would have improved anything. The lessons learned that were assumed appear incorrect. It also kind of kills the Trump cheated narrative. 😞

I think this is probably the fairest criticism I've read and agree wholeheartedly. It also explains how people keep talking past each other in a way many takes don't.
The Democratic Party is actually pretty effective under strict institutional norms and rules. They whip votes and submit to leaders despite a big tent and diverse base
