I just tried to stretch out my sore back using a foam roller and the dog thought this was an invitation to pounce on me and smother me with a million dog kisses.

I've long struggled with imposter syndrome. I've now encountered an actual imposter through my professional experience and oh boy I had nothing to worry about.

I took a nap today after my flu shot. My dog definitely ran up to me, licked my ear and ran away. I guess we are discovering his sense of humor.

I'm sorry #Toronto it's my fault we got snow. I put on my winter tires yesterday.

Apple cardamom cake is in the oven, laundry is in the dryer and I'm taking a break before I make homemade lasagna. A very wholesome Sunday.

I looked wistfully at all my hoodies. I am a walking volcano these days. Someday, we will be reunited.

A toddler just looked at me, pointed and said WOAH.

We were out late last night at The Beaches concert, and this morning we were out of coffee. It's been a rough day after a trying week.

I have stress-baked pizza with sourdough crust and a batch of salted caramel chocolate chip cookies tonight.

Did #Sportsnet just die?

We got fewer than 20 trick or treaters tonight, including a middle aged Chinese woman walking her dog.

Best costume was a 5 year old dressed up as a Go Train.

I completely dropped the ADHD masking this week at work while handling a crisis and it can be downright terrifying for those people who are used to the masked version of me.

30 years ago today, I remember going with my parents and grandparents to vote in the referendum. Our car was ready to go that night with our important things. If things went differently, that night we were running away to stay Canadian. I remember it so clearly.

Me doing fieldwork:

"It's poop! I'm identifying species by pieces of feces! This one is moose!"

LotR is straightforwardly a narrative about the virtues of multiculturalism because everyone being isolated and alone will just get picked off by Sauron but the DEI fellowship have what it takes.

Because they bring along a gardener.

(I’m aware there’s problems here too)

What a week it's been.

Everytime I watch baseball, I ponder what a missing sponsorship opportunity laundry detergents have here. Who keeps those white pants so pristine? I'd buy that crap. #bluejays @bluejays.com

I spent an hour pulling up all the weeds and invasive plants in my small garden plot out front and just put down 5 varietals of garlic. Wish me luck - I even labeled the different varietals.

My job is remote, my office is in another province 2 provinces away. I've spent this week in the office and doing fieldwork.

I'm absolutely exhausted and it was not a productive week. I'm glad I visited but I'm very excited to get home.

When I worked in tourism, I experienced burnout several times. The masking, stressful quotas, abusive clients, and unrealistic demands wore me down.

As a scientist, I go about my days unmasked and let my special interests shine. They are valued. What a difference it makes. Let my freak flag fly!

Met the director of the research institute in person today for the first time. Our only real conversation thus far was the job interview.

"Tell me an interesting fact."

I babble on about mushrooms that deliquesce.

No. He meant about me cause we don't actually know each other.

I pause. I think.
