Not only do the social media platforms that host this hate face absolutely no accountability for it, they also financially profit from it.
Normal day for a wāhine Māori, Green Party MP online. Studied ~400 comments on FB/Twitter on Tamatha Paul's recent comments, incl. on Instagram www.instagram.com/p/DLg5Jz-Jyg... to decolonialise memorialisation. 0 intellectual engagement present in online ecologies studied. Just a frothing hate.

Bottom trawling is so destructive, indiscriminately killing marine life from fur seals to seabirds and coral - some of which are hundreds of years old.

To protect the ocean for the future, trawling must stop on seamounts and other vital habitats.

If Minister Collin's main excuse for wanting to repeal the Plain Language Act is that it may cost a small amount, then she should vote against Regulatory Standards Bill! #RSB would cost NZ Government and taxpayers and property owners much more! 😮

Israel has attacked over 25 hospitals in Gaza since Oct 7, 2023.

Facilities like Al-Ahli, Indonesian, Al-Amal, Al-Awda, Kamal Adwan, Al-Quds, Al-Aqsa, Nasser & more have been bombed, raided, or destroyed.

The destruction of Gaza’s health system is systemic and strategic.

This is what it’s all about.

When people get what the #RSB means, they activate.

You don’t need a law degree to submit. You just need a voice. And time’s running out.

Make your voice count. Submit and encourage others to find their voice.

So, on his radio show today, Mike Hosking had Luxon agree with him that Covid was "gone". They mentioned it as one reason to justify cuts to sick leave. It's deliberate disinformation that can have real life consequences for public health. Other media outlets should ask Luxon why he lied.

Maurice Gee – and his Under the Mountain – have been part of my life for almost 50 years. In 1979 my father gave me and my sister the book of Under the Mountain. We auditioned (unsuccessfully – my fault) for the TV series; a few years later I played Theo in the Radio NZ adaptation of the story.
