I don’t play Hive often because I don’t have a good mind for it but those chunky tiles are amazing!

I don’t play Hive often because I don’t have a good mind for it but those chunky tiles are amazing!

I emailed Gen42 and John Yianni sent me the original image that inspired him for the artwork for the spider piece. I also emailed Dr. Jeremy Rovner from the AAS, and he was able to identify me as an orbweaver from hive’s art alone, which checks out!

Next do one where all the pieces are spiders!
On the show I keyed in on the specific mechanical and biological lineages that came with designing the game. Any similarities to Hive are mostly superficial—but going to come to people because of the hex tiles.
That said “Hive but all the pieces are Beetles” isn’t a bad pitch by any means 🪲

The ladybug, like me, can only move exactly three spaces. Sure, she may be more flexible with her hive climbing abilities, but you only get one of her. I provide double the spare pieces in your inventory and was never sold separately as an expansion!
