This is why the counterprogramming makes so little sense. The best it does is divert attention away for a day, it’s short term. At worst, it fucks up a whole TV deal. High risk/low reward is a bad combo.
Meltzer finally said the thing everyone has been ignoring: WWE lost NBC because they tried to counterprogram All In Texas & the Goldberg retirement show flopped really badly.
