Frank isn’t really operating like a project manager either, the midfield is built around 2 players 28+ in age that are just fine. VdV is the only Spurs player 25 or younger who has made more than half the available starts. Said this before but Spurs hierarchy got last year all wrong.
But the broader issue imo is that if you go with a safe pair of hands manager, you're so results dependant. Because what is Frank if not a kind of sensible Ange antidote who will make Spurs competitive again? And with a manager like TF you can't even really talk in project terms

Spurs 2 elite players are CBs whose biggest strengths aren’t sitting back and marking. It makes zero sense to set up matches where Spurs sit back and wait for those precise actions to take place.

And yet with the starting CBs available they’ve managed to be MORE open.
Boy Thomas Frank is really making Spurs smoke the whole pack after catching them complaining about being too open under Ange huh.

I wonder if we’ll see a lot of the Relentless Raspberry 3rd kit eventually
It should come as no surprise that Benfica will always course through Boston Legacy Coach Patão’s veins, but she still feels she made the right decision coming to Boston (despite the team’s color):

Did I enjoy Miami beating our old nemesis in a top 10 showdown? Absolutely. Do I trust Mario Cristobal to game manage his way into the college football playoff? I do not.

Plenty of time left, even if the outcomes turn out good this has been bad process.
Spurs still looking for an attacker and a centre-half. They'd prefer a winger, but depends on availability, and Simons can play out there

Rafael Leao has been raised as an option but seen as a difficult deal to do

Could there be a late twist in the long-running saga involving the Newcastle striker?

Great thread that goes into what I mentioned earlier in more detail. Not a reason to panic, but disappointing before an international break at home. Palhinha has uses (against big teams like City/PSG and maybe low block teams where you play more aggressively with your front 5) but not today.
#COYS After last year I am highly unlikely to feel miserable after a result like today... 1/

I thought that was the worst match Spurs have played since they’ve had the Romero-VdV partnership. Playing Palhinha/Bentancur/Sarr/BJ against a team that was very likely to press was malpractice
August 30, 2025 at 5:06 PM
Examples from that last post. Vic, Udogie, VdV, Romero, Porro, Sarr, Bentancur, Deki all recently fit in that category and that’s also where Son came from (they had success with Eriksen, Toby, Jan, and Lamela using this path as well).

Spurs had quite a few of these players from Ange’s 1st team that was CL worthy if not for PL teams being inept in Europe that year. Kim and I may not agree on the quality of our current players who fit in this category but she is absolutely correct on the approach.
My big gripe with Tottenham Hotspur is that a team of their budget and status should invest a lot of their time and resources into getting really good at the £25-50m signings from the big 4 leagues on the continent, and that is the type of transfer they are the absolute worst at

Conte is such a clown. Confident Djed is such an awesome thing to see.
Spence is a leading contender for my new favorite Spurs player. Sarr in the mix and after the weekend, so is Kudus.

This feels like cheating, and it doesn’t come until the last line youtu.be/fJuapp9SORA?...

Look would I love Savinho, Eze, and Hincapié? Absolutely. Would it run counter to every transfer window I can remember? You bet.
August 15, 2025 at 4:47 PM
Thomas is still new at this Spurs thing
August 15, 2025 at 4:40 PM
Have they considered selling a player or two to make up the gap on Eze and Savinho?

I can’t be bothered to bicker about that Spurs match, some things maybe good, some things maybe shit. #coys

The Yankees will finish the season under .500 and their front office will talk about how much the players love Aaron Boone
August 6, 2025 at 2:28 AM
@37h3r.net what are your thoughts on Vicario vs Kinsky?
August 4, 2025 at 3:51 PM
There’s already been 4 times in this match where a Newcastle player has been able to make a dangerous pass because Ben Davies thinks his position is Left Sweeper.
August 3, 2025 at 11:29 AM
I’m confused about why Spurs fans were talking about Hojbjerg in relation to Palhinha. They seem like very different players.
August 1, 2025 at 1:37 PM
Good stuff from @nathanaclark.bsky.social as usual, have Spurs been credibly linked with any of these players? Speaks to the wariness around the process this Summer they discussed on the latest pod.

I’m not sure I’ll dislike a Yankees manager in my adult life more than Aaron Boone.

Have probably whined a lot since the January window about not having a viable backup for Udogie, maybe this creates some urgency because Ben Davies ain’t it.
Udogie not going on tour is concerning
