2 weeks later they rescinded the offer due to “headcount issues”.

really good point made at the end of the article! if we compare anything to modern-day, imagine the chaos of any major disaster. scooping up and attempting to protect/comfort a child seemingly unrelated to you in a moment of terror may not be what you anticipated, yet its so extremely human.
