Went for a lovely walk with my dog tonight. WWIII won't be starting in the next couple of days at least, so might as well enjoy the time.

I just read an article about three little children from the same family dying of measles in a village…

I can’t imagine the pain their parents and loved ones are enduring…

This is what brainless meddling with public health leads to.

Agonising loss.

There is literally nothing on ABC News this morning about the world's biggest concerns. Who cares about the Beckhams? Not me. The Beckhams aren't the people who are going to prevent WWIII.

Can recurrent COVID damage your heart and brain?

From Grok:

Yes, recurrent COVID-19 infections can damage both the heart and the brain. Evidence from clinical studies, autopsies, and large cohort analyses shows that each infection increases cumulative risk, even in mild cases.

There’s a big story everyone is missing—but this article hits on it.

We aren’t just seeing public health dismantled bc we’ve been taken over by conspiracy theorists and lunatics.

What we’re really seeing is the giant, predatory, underegulated wellness industry come to Washington.

Heart Failure Deaths Have Accelerated in US Since Covid Pandemic

"The Covid pandemic didn’t just kill people directly. It appears to have accelerated a long-brewing reversal in US heart failure deaths, with mortality climbing faster since 2020 after years of decline, new research shows."

my 75yo mother told me last night that she’s planning to delete Instagram and Facebook because she’s sick of not being able to tell what’s AI and what’s not, and I genuinely don’t think tech companies have reckoned with this kind of move as an actual possibility

Saw a post about the price of RAM exploding due to increased demand by AI data centres. I almost fainted when I looked at the prices at the computer shop I almost purchased more from a month ago. Quadrupled! People won't be able to afford computers for their kids soon. But people are cool with AI? 🤦‍♀️

I wonder how long it will be before all the AI platforms start filling up with advertisements. There's a reason why if you ask it a simple question, it answers and then asks you follow up questions like it's pretending to be a human who is interested in what matters to you. #AISlop

Is most of the old Twitter/X public health/social justice/climate change crowd here? I only seem to see a few people posting. So I'm wondering if everyone is just scattered everywhere across multiple platforms since leaving X, hence why Bluesky still doesn't feel the same.

it’s okay to hate everything about GPTs. Ai is mass damage and completely pointless unless the point is to dumb down all of humanity while the planet warms exponentially faster because billionaires have decided everyone should be groomed, stolen from, and lied to.

I. Told. You. So.

Infection does confer antibodies and T cells against C19… but it also takes a wrecking ball to the immune system as a whole.

I'm sick of A.I. being pushed on me like drugs at the school gate. Wanted to check my Microsoft 365 subscription today, and only got to see my payment history after I'd had to punch Copilot in the face about three times. Felt like escaping the advances of a drunken harasser in a bar.

Thinking about the amazing St Mary McKillop on All Saints Day - because nothing says "I smashed the patriarchy" better than being ex-communicated for telling the priests to stay in their lane and let her teach as she saw fit only to eventually become a saint 😊.
