As I mentioned to @hilary-joy.bsky.social some big warehouse firms acquire unsold stock & sell mint condition items at knockdown prices. Eg these four were just over £10 on a ‘four for the price of three’ www.worldofbooks.com/en-gb/produc... Once a month, buy 4-4-3, browse, & donate.

World first UK laws will ban AI tools used by predators to blackmail and groom children, the Home Office has announced.

Offenders face up to 10 years in prison.

Word of day is ‘unasinous’ (17th century): united in stupidity.

A riff on ‘unanimous’: which comes from the Latin for ‘one mind’. ‘Unasinous’ means ‘one ass’.

I dedicated years of my life to reporting on January 6 and exposing what happened. I was there that day, co-wrote a book, and published a series of major stories on my own, for Rolling Stone, and for TPM.

I hope it mattered. I hope history will remember and understand what happened.

Let’s be a bit careful - non-EU people can still be RESIDENT in the EU.
This isn’t a tax on immigrants’ homes, it’s a tax on holiday homes.

Other than that, yes I agree. We should be looking at bold progressive taxation like this.
Why don’t we have one on second homes for a start?
We tinker around in the UK with 1% or 2% increases on stamp duty paid by overseas buyers. Meanwhile, Spain is proposing a 100% tax on non EU people buying property 😲
