a small fun thing i look forward to every month is filing my two patron purchase requests at my local library. especially love asking for works of translated fiction and/or things from small indie presses. ask your library to buy books! it's fun! 17/18 requests i've made this year were approved!
A periodic reminder that if you can't afford a book the library does buy books, and sometimes we even buy hundreds of copies of one book. Checking out books from your local library supports authors, which means they get paid and can write more great books!
