Another step in the right direction, so refreshing to have a uk government wanting to work with the EU rather than against it.

I don't think he's any less trust worthy than other politicians or the people commenting on him tbh
November 14, 2025 at 2:34 PM
My point is what you said isn't trustworthy.
November 14, 2025 at 2:03 PM
Absolutely it needs to be built, no question, but as already explained it's insufficient by itself for constant power, hence the need for constant supply to work alongside.
November 14, 2025 at 1:30 PM
Is that seriously what you took from what I said 😂

Time it takes to build is the one thing that wasn't mentioned but sure you take that away.
November 14, 2025 at 1:26 PM
Yes, it needs to be stored, but for a reasonably small amount it's not exactly a difficult task, France being a prime example of that.
November 14, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Because flooding has never killed anyone? Again you seem to be just ignoring the fukushima comments, it might be worth reading up on it. Or even better looking into thorium reactors, which is my preferred option.
November 14, 2025 at 1:21 PM
Pumped storage and renewables are insufficient to produce a constant power supply. The largest one currently being built can generate 1.8gw for 22 hours. That's enough for 1.8 million homes, the uk has nearly 29 million homes. Whilst it's definitely beneficial, it's not sufficient by itself.
November 14, 2025 at 1:20 PM
I'm aware of what pumped hydro is, living not too far from one currently being used, and another being constructed, to want to distance pumped hydro from hydro but conflating nuclear power with bombs is interesting logic.

96% of nuclear waste is now being recycled.
November 14, 2025 at 1:15 PM
That wouldn't sell news or boost social media engagement though.
November 14, 2025 at 12:45 PM
That's such a good way of putting it, and slightly painful after the last few F1 races 😂
November 14, 2025 at 12:39 PM
Just going to skip past dam failures as you support hydro electric, interesting.

Read what I said about fukushima, number of confirmed deaths from the nuclear failure? 1. Yes that's how far the industry moved.
November 14, 2025 at 12:38 PM
I didn't say it included everything. You claimed he's broken every pledge, if I can only find one he hasn't you're still wrong, fortunately there's lots he hasn't. In short cherry picking pledges doesn't change your statement being both wrong and fabricated when there's plenty that he hasn't broken
November 14, 2025 at 12:31 PM
and fortunately technology has moved on quite some way since the 80s and Chernobyl, which of course lead to huge changes in the industry.

There's also been many dam failures that resulted in death, I don't think it's a reason not to build hydro going forward.
November 14, 2025 at 12:21 PM
OK so we're back to power now,

Nobody is saying their hasn't been incidents, or deaths, but just to point out 3 mile island had zero deaths, fukushima the vast majority of deaths were caused by the evacuation not the incident itself,
November 14, 2025 at 12:18 PM
There's definitely a certain amount of personal bias, myself included, but it would be interesting to compare. Imo the tories are always given a relatively easy time, not limited to budgets, whereas labour are dragged across the coals for things that are often not even true.
November 14, 2025 at 12:05 PM
They absolutely are different, you're demonstrating the main issue with nuclear power and that's people conflating them with nuclear bombs.

There are 2 locations within 50 miles of central London, the ones you identified earlier as being closer to Portsmouth.
November 14, 2025 at 12:01 PM
There's no point me telling them, however the government are well within their right to close them.
November 14, 2025 at 11:56 AM
That would be the funding rules I mentioned that would need to change. The EU is not trying to close freeports, they're updating regulations.
November 14, 2025 at 11:54 AM
You've switched to nuclear bombs, you do know nuclear bombs are very different than nuclear power right?
November 14, 2025 at 11:43 AM
Fantastic to see a modern energy strategy. Nuclear with renewables will bring us away from our gas reliance, fingers crossed this is expanded on quickly.

And I will continue to say it but I really want the uk to start investing in Thorium reactors, China currently proving their worth.
November 14, 2025 at 11:30 AM
So years of testing, documenting, and developing in one of the most regulated industries in the world doesn't make you think they're safe, but putting one in parliament square does? Hopefully a bit of hyperbole on your part.

He hasn't though has he, you're just making stuff up
