Surveys can only tell you so much. Victorian LGBTIQA+ people have repeatedly said over many years they don’t want police in their Pride March. The VicPol withdrawal from this year’s march is a welcome step towards making our pride event safer.
Most LGBTIQA+ Australians who responded to a national Just.Equal survey support police marching in pride parades, but a majority also want conditions to apply.
