That’s where I’ve settled (which, admittedly, is probably 10 steps past where the senators who voted for it actually are). That & the more immediate fear that the administration’s messaging will be effective for the hundreds of thousands who won’t have paid attention until their flight is canceled.

RIP Oscar Wilde, you would have loved seeing the evil guys of the latter twentieth and early 21st centuries

Shit dude have you seen Emil Bove?

Hahahahaha one of the reasons we tell our 16 year old that his experience as a Georgia fan when he started caring circa 2020 is perhaps a bit anomalous in the history of our school…

Omg she was a BABY! I was 15 and lived in GA in 1996, so I always think of her as a key part of the Magnificent 7. I don’t think I’d seen anything with her that young.

Me too. My 18 year old said she had voting FOMO because she wanted to 1) vote at all (no elections for us) and 2) vote for Mamdani. Her friends feel the same way.

They weren’t the trash anti-trans ads that VA was seeing—these were much more folksy and didn’t touch on any wedge issues at all. This was the race I was most worried about because of how effective I imagined they could be. IDK—it just feels like it says a lot about how folks are feeling right now.

NYT had an article the other day about it, too. I saw the reporter posting about it. Oh, well! 🤪

More people voted in New York City’s election this year than they have in 50 years.

That’s a win for democracy, and a testament to @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social's inspiring campaign.

Congratulations to the next mayor of the greatest city in the world. 🗽

I’ve been so into these results that I haven’t even looked at AHP’s soup post yet!
