I loved The Pitt, I think it's top-to-bottom great. But it's a show about how social crises not being addressed creates an unsustainable health & safety burden on us all. I worry that it resonated because the solution it offers is for workers to stick a finger in the dam and just endure the trauma

It's not. Oliver's next line makes it clear that he's saying "fuck you" in the sense that he's keeping it short so Bargatze has to pay more. Oliver is openly participating in the bit, not denouncing it
