Went and messed with someone’s 3d printer and printed one of my buses - it is incredible to see my work and effort into perfecting the geometry of the models in a real world object I can look at and appreciate even more

My favourite SUV fact is that a lot of the more common newer ones are less than 50cm thinner than a Solo bus with 30 seats! Range Rovers come in at 2209mm (13cm!) and others such as Kia EV9 (1980mm) are only 2 metres shorter and 36cm thinner - a school ruler thinner
Bus sized SUVs is insane

The obligatory new years intermission took me to Stoke on Trent to find some of those StreetVibes and what a bizarre little bus they are. Unusually good ride for a Wright of that era and sounds really interesting - bit like an Allison MMC with an audible Allison whine. Worth a ride

Transport wise, I wanted to get some sounds from various buses in Manchester that we don’t get here so it wasn’t all doom and gloom, a relatively successful sound collection session with the only b8rle I can think of which does those funny estate routes where they barely fit

Whatever this bit was is also ok, although still about as dirty as the rest of the city - and still, no wildlife like you’d get literally everywhere else

Not to mention the seasonal lift (????) and after you’ve walked up the stairs (takes over a minute by the way) you are immediately greeted by an ugly car park

Castleview Viaduct was next up and even that just felt a bit bleak. Yeah it’s winter but it seemed colourless for the majority of it and it was a dead end so you had to go back. Still no wildlife

Another journey where it’s quicker to go 50 miles south to go back north than it is to get the ‘direct’ Cross Country service - and you’d actually get a seat

Went last time, was filthy and a bit of a tip, overall a bit gross. Particularly disappointing for what seemed to be the only place that seemed to get any investment

I’m sure the existing residents really care about the trees and the verge! Personally surprised they’ve not already asked for a culling to put more cars in
