Earlier today I went to an estate sale of a man who'd been an engineer at Bell Labs many years ago; on a shelf for $5 I found a box labeled "Telstar Solar Panels."
It contained two small solar cells manufactured in 1962 for the world's first private communications satellite, Telstar-1.
Amazing!

They're also often fighting some serious conditioning that makes asking the hardest part. (I'm thinking of femmes and others socialized as such, but nobody is immune)
