I never thought I’d be cheering on a former Tory Cabinet minister.

But here’s to the moral clarity, courage and leadership of @kitmalthouse.bsky.social.

So much shocking news from Gaza but this is really appalling. Feeling powerless, especially with limited energy to take to the streets. @matthewpennycookmp.bsky.social as my MP, you and the UK government are not powerless. What are you doing to end the killing?

Eleven-minute race for food: how aid points in Gaza became ‘death traps’ – a visual story
Hundreds of people have died while seeking food since delivery was taken over by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in May. But Palestinians facing extreme hunger have no choice but to take the risk

This is possibly the most important piece of journalism I’ll ever write. At the age of 50, I was diagnosed autistic. Please read my story and share it so others don’t have to wait so long to understand who they are ❤️

I thought it was being gay that made my life so difficult. Then, at 50, I got an eye-opening diagnosis …
I spent far too many years lonely and angry, thanks to schoolmates who called me ‘weird’ and bosses who dismissed me as ‘hysterical’. But was it my sexuality that put their backs up – or the autism I ...

Today UK authors are protesting against Meta for stealing our work to train their AI model. Authors earn an average of £7000 per year, we are not rich, and yet a trillion dollar company decided it didn’t want to license our work fairly as it was “too expensive”

Theft is not a valid alternative.

Translators have been the canaries in the AI coalmine for a couple of years now and we are already losing work to these systems. Having existing work used to train them without permission or compensation just adds insult to injury.
Thank you to everyone who has signed our petition, 6,000+! Authors deserve to have a livelihood and compensation from their work, if you haven't signed do so now 👇

My poetry pamphlet IN RETAIL (@arachnepress.bsky.social) has been used to train Meta’s Al without mine or my publisher’s permission or with due regard to copyright. I’m not alone, there are 1000s of writers who’s work has been stolen. Solidarity with @societyofauthors.bsky.social!

In every atrocity in history, the silent are always principal players.

Those who remain silent over Israel's genocide are enabling it to continue.

Their cowardice is paid in the blood of thousands of innocent Palestinians.

Got to a serendipitous passage of this book.
Actually the whole book is still very relevant and urgent — ends in the late 1930s.

I mostly do words here (and plants) and do art on instagram (and more plants)
So here’s what I discovered at @gladlib.bsky.social last month: Rowan Williams as a poet.
