Finished a couple games last month with a few being deep from my backlog. Ico was a game I had always wanted to finish back in the day but never got a chance to. Finishing it after Last Guardian felt great and made me fall deeper in love with Team Ico games. I think I would pick Ico over LG.

Been trying to watch more 90s anime films and A Wind Named Amnesia was first on the list. I remember the VHS cover as a kid but I’m glad I saw this as an adult as I really like it. It has a cool premise but sadly not enough time for the story to grow and blossom into something better.

I picked up the Dragon Quest 1 and 2 remake as they are the only two mainline games I never beat. I played them back in the day on the Gameboy but fell off as I was pretty young and it wasn’t exciting like newer Final Fantasies at the time. I loved HD look in this more than Octopath’s as well.

Finally finished Onimusha Warlords for the first time. Not sure why I skipped it as a kid, maybe because I was tired of tank controls in a game even though it works really well in this. I really enjoyed it overall and I can’t wait to play the rest.

A month ago I decided to finally jump into the universal timeline of the Gundam series and it’s been quite a ride. So far I’ve finished MSG and the Origin episodes while currently I’m almost halfway through Zeta and I’m hooked. This is the Spring of Gundam for me in which I hope to watch all of it.

Flying Circus is a RC copter game that has quite a few modes like adventure, free flight, and a license course. There’s quite a few different stages ranging from a house to ancient ruins. The controller does make the flight a bit easier but still felt a bit difficult. #randomgamesaturday

For #randomgamesaturday I’m going for a game that meant a lot to me growing up. At the point that I played this I had only played the first as even back then 2 was pricey. I still have yet to play 4 but I hope to get to that at some point.

Thunder Tanks was the first vehicular combat game on the PS2 about half a year before Twisted Metal Black. It was pretty barebones but had quite a few modes and killstreak type power ups like a satellite beam. Not a bad game but didn’t really do much to stand out.

Got the plat for Promise Mascot Agency today and I gotta say, this game was a joy. It has such a satisfying gameplay loop with sending mascots out in jobs while exploring the overworld. The story was fun and with jokes that were actually funny. As someone who loves hitting upgrade buttons this game

Finished Orphen the other day and it was different than what I was expecting. Anime games have come a long way from this with its ATB styled fights and somewhat annoying platforming. It’s hard to recommend nowadays but there were a few pretty places to see. Man screw that spider boss though.

i miss the early internet. people were like “you gotta see this dude. this cat sure is long.” and they were right. it was really long. it never shoulda gotten any more complicated than that.

Wrapped up Summoner the other day and it’s surprising how ambitious in some ways this was for a launch title. Yeah the performance is rough but the story and work that went into the first castle was great. Combat was okay but I started hating it later. Definitely not my favorite launch rpg title.

I find that every face here resembles a different stage of being baked perfectly.

Finished Trails to Azure and loved it. In many ways this may be my favorite in the franchise so far but I’m hoping that changes when I get into the Cold Steel games. It feels weird jumping to those as I have grown to love the graphics of the last 5 games but I’m excited to see them look more real.

Figured since it’s 2025 it’s probably time to jump into this finally.

I felt like every David Lynch film taught me something as I watched his films throughout my life. Twin Peaks became the first show I genuinely cared for the characters in. The world definitely lost someone special today.

First game finished for 2025 is Arkham Asylum. I ignored this for years but when I heard how it was a bit like a metroidvania I jumped. Overall I really enjoyed this, the combat was fun and I actually liked looking for the Riddler stuff. I haven’t touched the other two titles but I might now.

Made a chart of some of the games that I really enjoyed playing this year. I also knocked out a bunch of the backlog which included some more well known titles as well. Some games I enjoyed were Arctic Eggs, Felvidek, and Dread Delusion. It was a really great year for indies again.

Been playing a lot of PS2 and 360 games recently and I just finished Eternal Ring. This was my first time playing a game like this from FromSoft and I really liked it. The magic system was fun to mess with and the game wasn’t really that hard. It makes me want to try King’s Field someday.
