I had one of these in 1984. If I could afford the gas, I'd love to have it again.

Just wow!!! It's hard to believe it was visible in southern IN.

For a minute I thought this was from Newsom's official account, not the parody one! 😂

My little rural red Indiana county showed up today for No Kings. About 250 people, which roughly equal .5% of the county.
That might not sound like much, but at the same % in NYC it would equal over 42,000!

My small town of 13K had both sides of a full city block around the courthouse filled with people. The county votes at 75% in favor of Republicans. Yet, so many drivers honked their horns and waved. It was an encouraging sign in this rural red Indiana town.

The leaves on the trees are getting thinner 🍃

The time between the cool & damp season and the hot & dry season is way too short. Now I'm trying to grapple with the fact that the steel gray sky & white season is creeping closer.

Most of the summer colors have faded. This morning's walk was pretty much white #fungus , white flowers & white fluff from the wild lettuce. 🌿📷

OK, just saw this. Now I understand a bit better.

So, it was a "no" on Count One for the charge of false statements, but it was a "yes" on Count Two...

That orange really stood out & being about 8" X 12" didn't hurt anything. 🍄📷 #chickenofthewoods #COTW

Poor you! You might also try Accuweather. With the wildfire smoke, pollen & ozone fluctuating daily, I've only been going outside for about an hour early in the morning. Hope things get better for you.

Report me (to fucking anyone).
Get me fired (if you can find me).
This fascist shit has got to stop.

A cloud in the distance at daybreak. But still no rain. It's been dry for a month & forecast doesn't give much hope for the next 30 days. Living in the woods, wildfires always worry me. And with the farmers getting ready to harvest their dry crops, field fires will surely happen.

Found a praying mantis on the morning walk. I've been fascinated by them since I was a kid. 📷

Wonderfully cool morning walk. Could use some rain. Still the flowers, fungus and bees are handling the short drought fairly well. 🌸🐝🍄📷

It's taken 8 years of not mowing the field and spreading the milkweeds seeds... and look!!!! Finally there are monarch caterpillars! 🦋 😍

On our morning walk we found some Bumbles sleeping in the Rose of Sharon blossoms 🐝🌸📷

Sometimes it's the small things that bring joy. Today I found a Sweet Gum sapling growing in the swampy field that mostly has Maple & Ash saplings & a variety of bur bearing plants. I'm so pysched!!! One small reason to keep on keeping on.

This post has nothing to do with Trump being a twatwaffle or that the current US administration is leaning into authoritarianism. But I am glad to know that if the news causes me to become impacted with an overwhelming amount of shit, I have found some wild senna growing on the property.

Another foggy morning walk to start the day in the valley. Hot temps early & a promise of cool rain for the afternoon.

A common webworm moth on milkweed blooms. They are cute as moths, but the large groups of them in their "web" (or "bags" - commonly referred to as bagworms) earlier in the season... not so much. 🦋📷
