Just pushed the first Feature Complete build for a client. A complete rework of UX that adds a first class iPad experience, drops a very bad TCA implementation, maintains interop with an old 3rd party SDK, and resolves hundreds of memory leaks, while mentoring an engineer, all on a 10hr/wk schedule.

Even though it appears you can turn off iOS 18 notification summaries, I’m still not updating. I expect these sorts of half-baked shenanigans from Google and Meta, but am supremely disappointed with Apple on this.

Am I not understanding how moderation lists work? If I add an account to one I’ve made, why do I keep seeing posts from the account? Do moderation lists not work on the Discovery feed?

Folks, if you're using a UIViewController with many child controllers wired together in a TCA-like fashion with Combine and cancellables, please do future developers a solid and call cancellables.removeAll() when the view disappears. They will appreciate it. #ios #lost-hours

One of the enjoyable aspects of visiting St. Maarten is that every famous pop culture track I grew up with has been covered by reggae bands. Sweet Dreams as reggae is exactly as you imagine it, and it’s good. Good songs transcend genres.

Continuing my escape into the Indiana Jones series with And The Temple Of Doom. I saw these films only on VHS so the clarity of Disney+‘s 4K Ultra HD is much appreciated, but the pixelation is crazy. Any video codec buffs interested enough to comment on how film grain affects compression?
