Progress update: The construction of the second entrance to Glover Park is underway! 👩‍🔧

Shared-use pathways and the second park entrance on Woodman Road are currently being paved. This portion of the project is expected to be completed in December.

An original painting of education pioneer Virginia E. Randolph has come home on a loan from Hampton University. Sidney Dickinson's work was commissioned after Randolph earned the William E. Harmon Award for Distinguished Achievement in Education in 1926.

Henrico County officials scattered handfuls of seeds today to celebrate the start of a community farm in Varina. Farmers will be able to apply to use plots as small as a quarter- or half-acre, beginning in late fall, at runnymeadefarm.com.

While SNAP recipients have begun to receive a portion of their disbursements, families and food banks will need a few weeks to recover from the federal government shutdown. Community members can help their neighbors (and prepare for the holiday season!) with continued support for Feed More.

Henrico's government offices & courts will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day. Join us in honoring all who have served in our nation's armed forces.

Trash pickup will not occur. It will resume Wednesday, Nov. 12 on a 1-day delay through the week. The public-use areas will be open Tuesday.

With its new second level, the NOVA Aquatics Center-Regency is poised to compete for large, prestigious swim meets to further enhance sports tourism in Henrico. The expansion provides mezzanine seating for 1,000 spectators, a larger swim shop & a community room.

Voting has gone smoothly all day in Henrico, General Registrar Mark Coakley said. As of 2 p.m., 23% of the county's 249,864 registered voters had cast ballots today. He expected overall turnout to reach 60% - slightly higher than the 59% from '21. Polls will be open until 7 p.m.
