Woah. As if my antennae weren't up already ...

I'd be interested to see if there were any connections b/n the asst clerk magistrate who upheld the charges, or the cops mentioned in complaint, Shauna McGuirk and John Bossol. (If this is what was learned today, imagine what we'll learn before Feb.)
here we have the person who personally campaigned for charges against Etel (Thomas Duffy) being represented by the judge now presiding over Etel's case (Janet McGuiggan, former head litigator for Worcester!!). The naked corruption that goes on in this city is just crazy

Very straight line from "move fast and break things" to "pillar of the global fraud economy."
Meta has been putting profit over people for a long time.

Last year they planned to collect $16 BILLION in revenue from fraudulent, scammy ads.

“Meta’s own research suggests its products have become a pillar of the global fraud economy,” writes @jeffhorwitz.bsky.social.
Meta is earning a fortune on a deluge of fraudulent ads, documents show
Meta projected 10% of its 2024 revenue would come from ads for scams and banned goods, and it internally estimates that its platforms show users 15 billion scam ads a day, company documents show.

Platforms have skewed right for a while. Now, in fractured Media landscape, you're seeing direct support grow for media willing to parrot right-skewing talking points.

On Tuesday, Americans sent Democrats a resounding message.

“Fight for us”

“Fight for working class Americans”

“Fight against Trump’s corruption, criminality and cruelty”

5 days later, Democrat Senators sent Americans a resounding message.

“Nah”

1) If a vote takes place, it does with a month or less left in open enrollment.
2) Watch for the next thing to be an early cutoff for open enrollment.
3) We really need an age limit for Democratic Party leadership.
4) I'm assuming this seals Chuck's fate on a primary challenge.
It doesn't actually matter if Chuck Schumer votes for this or not.

If he can't keep his caucus unified to protect healthcare for over 10 million Americans, he should resign as leader.

Important to remember that the concept of objective, view-from-nowhere journalism was commercially successful b/c it ran counter to the papers of the day that were started to advance specific agendas. In the last 20 years, many of those pubs got bought and are now leveraging that hard-earned trust.
They gutted the Washington Post. CBS. NYT. Now Teen Vogue.

The point isn't to bring in more conservatives. They've reached that saturation point.

They are killing the fourth estate and buying up the social media to control the messages we see. These were all targeted to disarm the left of truth.

"I absolutely expect that going forward we're going to have a wave of left wing populism that comes from a very, very different place than the right wing populism."

100% on a wave, 100% disagree it's from a different place. Economics is at the core; Democrats need younger, better candidates.
trump surely wants mamdani to win.
not because he agrees with him.
but because he wants the fight.

Facts you can drop on poll workers when you #vote in #Worcester today:

1) There are 116,455 registered voters. This is⬆24.6% from a decade ago, ⬆11.34% just since 2021.
2) 20% turnout would be the highest since 21.35% in 2015. It would also be the 2nd straight ⬆ in turnout.

Pro tip to the City of #Worcester: If the person is entitled to the records and you refuse to turn them over, it's OK for editors to refer to those records as "secret," I.e.

"Laywer demands city produce secret sex crime investigations records"

City of Worcester Receives Legal Demand for Records on Sex Crime Investigation
A Worcester woman's legal counsel took the first step toward a lawsuit against Worcester for investigation records related to sexual abuse as a child.
