i wanted to elaborate more on this b/c the ao3 bots are an invisible issue in fandom if you're not a writer or on writer-focused sites often. i see this affecting lots of people, it sucks, and it plays into a broader trend of devaluing human creativity that fucks everyone over. here's the details:

this is wonderful! idk if readers in fandom have seen how comment culture on ao3 has gotten so bad due to bot/AI comments lately, ranging from trolls trying to shame/insult authors into deleting fic to false compliments that lead to art scams.

idr how i got here but they play lacrosse now

Watch This continuation from the previous. felix, also in a lacrosse uniform (number 2), has lunged into position, but instead of a lacrosse stick, he’s holding a wholeass sword and is looking capital-f Furious. apparently, he’s somehow hit the lacrosse ball hard enough with this sword to splatter it into goo with a big loud SPLAT sound. he’s screaming “FUCK YOU YOU’RE NOT MY DAD” continuation from the previous. we’ve cut back to dimitri and sylvain, but they both look dumbfounded. sylvain’s arm has dropped to his side; dimitri has lowered his stick to the ground. sylvain is blank and shocked; dimitri is still smiling, but it’s a frozen, stunned smile, his pupils tiny and his mouth looking tight. they’re saying: sylvain: where did he get a sword dimitri: where did he get a sword off to the right, blue-byleth is leaning in with her hand on the border of the panel. she’s wearing a baseball uniform (number 13) that has a tad too many buttons undone than is appropriate, and she’s holding her hand to her mouth to project her voice as she says, “Hey one of you, get me that kid’s number. I need those daddy issues on the baseball team”
