I think the involvement of so many major media and government figures directly with these scams is completely different from most of the history of the country. There’s always been some of that, but we have wellness grifters running the big federal medical programs and crypto grifters everywhere.

The grifting has never been bigger, imo, but it’s definitely been a very American industry for a long time.
