there’s no such thing as wasting your 20s. your 20s are for recovering from whatever the fuck happened to you as a kid so that you’re ready to get weird with it in your 30s.

Being chronically ill means living a life of constant upheaval.

You can do everything “right” & your body still rebels.

It’s why we have to cancel plans & say no to things we really want to do

We aren’t lazy. We don’t dislike you. We’re trying to manage our energy while our body works against us.

My kid has a bleeding disorder and we just received an email from the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation that yesterday "nearly all staff within the CDC’s Division of Blood Disorders and Public Health Genomics" will be fired, so fuck you, RFK Jr, and all the senators who approved his nomination.

An FDA worker confirms what I've seen out there.

CDC's entire FOIA office is gone.

The FDA's communications and web office were cut.

"The FDA as we know it is gone."

Today is the day I cried. The destruction of HHS and the CDC; the failson in charge of it all; the overwhelming loss of so many brilliant, dedicated people; the cruelty and disrespect with which it was done.

Tomorrow is the day this profound sorrow renews my motivation.

Post traumatic emotional regulation isn't about "forcing" ourselves to repress or ignore anything we're experiencing (or "forcing" anything else, for that matter).

If we're trying to "force" something out of our awareness, we're off track. Something's up. Back up. Look closer.

Dear One,

We’re fed a lot of stories in which victims teach people how to stop hurting them. To the point that leaving a toxic/abusive situation can sometimes feel like a moral failure.

But walking away from someone who’s hurting you isn’t a surrender. It isn’t quitting or giving up. ⬇️

Something that I've noticed get demonstrably worse in my lifetime is the idea that human & civil rights are something granted to us by governments and voters. As in, we only have human rights if other people think we do & vote on it. That is fucked all the way up and bassackwards.

FRIENDLY REMINDER…

We are currently being bombarded with counterintuitive messages about how to feel, who to trust and what is right.

Rediscover your own intuition, your compassion, your moral center. Weigh it against what those with a hidden agenda tell you.

That’s how we survive.

I’m seeing even well-meaning accounts criticise disability cuts as hitting “the most vulnerable.” Reminder: disabled people are not inherently vulnerable. We are vulnerable when governments choose to withhold the resources disabled people need to live dignified and secure lives.

Being disabled is not a moral failing, character flaw, or result of bad “personal choices”.

We all become disabled eventually.

Clean water, safe food & a healthy environment are great. Everyone deserves access to them. But they will NOT cure disability.

Pushing rhetoric that they will is eugenics

HHS renamed AHA (Admin for Healthy America)

The video drips with eugenicist language. Clean water, safe food & healthy environment (read wellness camps) won’t cure chronic illness

He says the real overhaul will be bigger & improve the health of the entire nation. Will they disappear the disabled?

I think at the darkest point in your life, you allow other people to treat you like garbage. Maybe you think it’s what you deserve, tough love.

To me, love is patient, someone treating you with care and respect. They help you see how bright you shine, until you find your own way out of the dark.
