Am enjoying ‘The House of Wolf’ by Sir Tony Robinson. Saxon spear for effect! A Viking appears called Martin Hennig. The only Martin Henig I know is Oxford Rev Prof Martin Henig. A lovely gentle soul who’d be the worst raider: I saw him fall off a punt! REALLY hope he was Sir Tony’s inspiration

Britain’s pensions & care crisis isn’t caused by migrants. It’s caused by ageing – and all the politicians who ignored it. The Bear explains.

Couldn't agree more, Rupert.
Defeated Green Party leadership candidate Adrian Ramsay MP co-led the Party to an extraordinary quadrupling of its parliamentary numbers at last year’s general election. Three cheers for Adrian! (Pse retweet to agree)

A fascinating Newsnight interview. Both the political journalists on the panel said that it's a competition between: broad church & appealing to voters of every party on the one hand, versus fishing in the same waters as Jeremy Corbyn on the other. A very clear choice, I'd say.
Ellie was excellent on Newsnight last night 🌱 Clear, credible, and focused on keeping our broad appeal so we can win across the country.

Flag Fen felt positively tropical!
Spent the day sweltering in some reeds at Flag Fen to record this edition of the Time Team podcast with @helengeake.bsky.social.

A great episode featuring roundhouse fires, Sutton Hoo ships and the Bayeux Tapestry.

Our policies have always been more radical than Corbyn's

We should not retreat into a Left ideological ghetto but should invite everybody to vote for a sustainable and peaceful future with the Green Party

A very clear analysis of why the Green Party is different to all others. It has broadly left-wing policies because these are essential for the planet, but it is first and foremost a Green party and not a leftist party.

The Greens are keeping seats like this because constituents see us delivering, not just shouting from the sidelines & delivering nothing like some parties seem to do.

This is indeed the best analysis of Green electoral success I've read. Under Carla & Adrian, the party has gained power and influence on a whole new scale. Let's keep going upwards with Adrian & Ellie.
I'd urge Greens wondering which way to vote in the leadership election to read this astute & well-informed analysis by @colinboyle.bsky.social, consider the chart below, & then vote for @elliechowns.bsky.social & @adrianramsay.bsky.social.
