I personally know some of these “probationary” employees had worked in their agency for decades but had gotten promoted to a new position less than a year ago so got tagged as “probationary.” Am so glad they will be offered back their jobs but what a nightmare they are going through.

Congrats, they heard you! The Social Security Administration has decided tonight to abandon its plans to end phone service for millions of Americans filing retirement and disability claims. Thank you to all who shared our post and made calls today—you did it!

This morning, the US National Science Foundation fired 168 employees, approximately 10% of its workforce, for no cause other than they were the agency's most recent hires. 🧪

Co-workers are leaving supportive messages before they have to clear out of the building at 5 p.m. Sent to me by a source ⬇️

First page of the termination letter sent to probational staff. “performance has not been adequate” regardless of actual performance. Probationary doesn’t just mean new people. It’s also people who have been there for years but promoted to a new supervisory position within the past 12 months.

The good news: CDC's webpages have been restored following court orders.
The bad news: many have this despicable banner attached to them. We will be getting into misconceptions in gender ideology in a later post. For now, we are hurt and ashamed, and we stand with the LGBTQIA+ community.

Building a science lab is like building a new company: it takes years to put together the right team. Many lab groups are now broken.

Oh hi. I guess I’m a dire threat to the American people & our way of life now.

And this is from a president who is dismantling checks & balances & democracy as a whole, day by day.

- From an autistic woman who was born autistic. (And so was my mom, long before vaccines btw.) WE AREN’T NEW.

As someone with an actual PhD in geography, I am utterly disgusted with Google for this. What a joke.

I love Costco.
Costco promotes diversity while selling hot dogs complete with a drink for only $1.50 while paying their employees $30 an hour. They should be the ones to run the U.S. government.
