I never had the problem before T, so when the inside of my nose starts itching it isn't anywhere near the first issue that comes to mind.
I end up pawing at my snoot for multiple days, looking like I play with white powder, until I remember about the hairs.

You'd think I'd be used to this by now

And it implies either that the abuser is having normal, natural reactions or that the victim's reaction isn't normal or natural for the bonkers situation. It opens the door to more victim blaming.
