Would you be interested in an online heat pump class for homeowners?

There's so much jargon and conflicting information in the HVAC industry - it's hard to separate fact from fiction.

A structured course with easy-to-watch videos might help.

What do you think?

This is a fantastic writeup about the heat pump landscape.

Joseph doesn’t have a formal HVAC background. He learned by asking lots of questions to the smartest people solving these problems.

And you can too! Anyone can help deploy heat pumps.

The most important decision you’ll make when getting a new heat pump installed is which contractor to work with.

The brand matters much less, and in many cases you’ll find the exact same equipment with a different sticker on it.

Really great video from Miss Mini Split.

Is the largest force in HVAC invisible?

Private equity is transforming the industry.

These firms are gobbling up contractors, distributors, software providers, and even equipment manufacturers.

What do these dynamics mean for homeowners trying to install a heat pump? (1/2)

Here's your regular reminder that brand doesn't matter when it comes to most HVAC equipment.

From what I can tell, this is the same heat pump equipment that has been sold under the Carrier, Bryant, Midea, Day & Night, Weathermaker, Payne and other brands.

Li-ion batteries are a commodity. Costs rapidly fell, enabling ubiquitous EVs.

At the same time, HVAC equipment costs sharply rose. Prices doubled in 4 years between 2020 and 2024.

For heat pumps to become ubiquitous, do they need to be a commodity?
