Three years ago my daughter attempted suicide at school. While she had already been on a 504 plan, the educators worked hard to amend her plan to one that worked for her and held her accountable to being safe at school and allowed her to continue her education. She was able to graduate on time.

Even if disabled people could afford the cost, space and energy it takes to prep…
It’s nearly impossible to stock up on meds.

They’re tightly controlled and dispensed in small quantities. Insurance generally won’t cover larger amounts.

“Just stock up on meds” is not a solution.

Disability can happen to anyone. It’s the only minority group you can join at any point in time. Caring about Medicaid cuts is caring about your future. Caring about accessibility is caring about your future. Seeing disabled people is seeing your inevitable future.

Every time someone my age says something about “a brainrot trend on TikTok…” I’m compelled to remind Gen X that we were obsessed with Gregorian chant for a year in the 90s. Like we *went to the mall* & *bought CDs of it*. We blasted it in our cars driving to our high schools. This was normal to us🥸

Kindness is very cool.

Don’t let the insecure nihilists get away with suggesting otherwise.

Kindness is not a sign of weakness.

Choosing kindness is a radical act.

Because somebody prioritizes kindness does not mean they do not believe in self and community defense.

KEEP CALLING. PEEL OFF ALL DEM SENATORS YOU CAN.

☎️: (202) 224-3121

Tell them to vote NO on Cloture and NO on CR. Vote is pushed to after 1:15ish for now. Situation is fluid.

The only public YES votes are Schumer and Fetterman. They need 7-8 total. KEEP CALLING.

Call retiring Senators too!

Musk and Tr*mp are currently dismantling social security, Trump is risking our national security/alienating our allies, and Dem leadership is going to sit quietly and listen to his (their??) speech tonight as if it's business as usual. It's a five alarm fire and Dems are just watching us burn.

Anxiety is a gas when you think about it. Yesterday at the doctors office the MA put out her hand to hold my purse I thought she was offering to shake my hand so I shook it. We both had a laugh, because obviously no one shakes hands with the MAs. I’m a goof.

The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a historical year-long event that led to the desegregation of public buses & helped launch the modern #CivilRights Movement.

It took (over a span of) several years to organize.

Tackling issues this wrong + deep-rooted takes bravery, community and time.

We’re partnering w/ a number of groups participating in an #economicblackout THIS Friday, 2/28.

Do not spend, if possible.
No Starbucks on your way to work.
No drinks w/ the coworkers after work.
No dining out.
No Walmart run.
No quick McDonald’s drive-thru hit.

Hurt their wallets!

We need more abled people to stick up for disabled people right now. They're going after accessibility, 504, IEPs, and RFK wants to put us in labor camps. Yet the ONLY people I ever see talking about this are also disabled.

The need for this strike is critical. We are watching our democracy be dismantled every single day. We know there are systemic issues that allowed for this to happen - we also know that in these unprecedented times, the removal of Trump and Musk must be a key demand so that we can address them.
