Mike’s imaging center is standing up for science.
We serve 250 scientists annually. Research cores rely on institutional support and NIH Indirects to support skilled staff and keep our doors open. We STAND UP FOR SCIENCE due to the huge impact funding losses will have. We cannot advance together without the research cores. @umasschan.bsky.social

2. Spent quality time with friends and family.
3. Attended several Indivisible meetings for inspiration and motivation.

Here’s a summary of what the cuts to NIH grants means for medical research.

The cost-saving claims don’t hold up. Every dollar in NIH research grants generates $2.46 in economic activity, research shows—a total of $93 billion in 2023 alone.

“It’s incredible to me that we would give up this thing that has such obvious societal benefits,” says biologist Mark Peifer.
America will pay dearly for the NIH’s mindless war on wokeness and DEI
Colleges, businesses, patients, students, workers, and US excellence will all suffer—and for what?

I'm 100% in favor of getting rid of waste and fraud.

Can President Elon please explain to us how research into chemo drugs and cancer treatments is now considered wasteful?

He can't. Because it's all BS and lies. Dismantling the NIH like this will kill people.

His daughter has cystic fibrosis, but he’s cutting funding to people who are working on treatments for CF. No wonder his wife divorced him.
Incredible: Russ Vought’s daughter has cystic fibrosis and benefits from a “miracle drug” made possible by the National Institutes of Health—an agency Vought now aims to gut as part of the Project 2025 attack www.motherjones.com/politics/202... Project 2025 is gutting medical funding that helped Russell Vought's own kid
Its architect's daughter has cystic fibrosis—and benefits from a "miracle drug" backed by an agency he's attacking.

Elon—the richest man on Earth—is gutting the world’s largest provider of food aid. He could end world hunger single-handedly and still be the richest man alive. But he won’t.

Instead, he spent 40 million on Super Bowl ads attacking USAID!

Stand with USAID: share this counter-ad…

Stopped by my congressman’s office this morning to register my objection to this week’s tariffs and trade wars; and to express my concern about the Treasury Department’s data breach by randos with no security clearance.

Everything is extremely chaotic but the best info we have so far suggests that Trump’s “stop funding” EO would cover:

Medicaid
ESSA funds
IDEA
Snap
School meals
WIC
Head start grants
Child care block grants
Pell grants
Student loans
Higher Ed grants
Housing vouchers
CTE

Devastating beyond words.

Good question.
Ok, I’m a bit confused. How could Trump override the TikTok ban today when the 20th Amendment says he is not President until his inauguration tomorrow?
