Londoner busy trying to create streets for people, build a big sewer, get more Lib Dems elected, and rekindle things with Europe. Would like to be on a bike. She/her

Men seem to be supremely averse to smiling in profile pictures. I don’t get it

Plenty of dual/multiple occupancy cycles as well on that stretch. Counting number of people rather than number of vehicles/cycles would be a lot of extra work though and it’s not clear how big a benefit it would be

Absolutely no caramel anywhere near any mince pie ever. Some things are just wrong and tolerance can only go so far

I met residents at this junction just last month to see how bad it is for walking and cycling: bsky.app/profile/caro....

They told me that TfL and Wandsworth Council have done nothing for three years to make it safer.

❓ will this junction still be the most dangerous in London in 12 months time.
Massive thanks to @wandsworthcycling.bsky.social for showing me the problem of traffic cutting across Upper Tooting Rd from side street to side street, barging in front of people crossing the road and bullying people riding bikes along CS7 out of the way.

My heart was in my mouth 🫣

I will allow cream/custard/brandy butter

Mincemeat is such a perfect thing all on its own. I will fight anyone who tries to add anything other than pastry to it

This conversation is in response to someone accusing the OP of falling for propaganda and threats. Seems to me they’re taking a thoughtful self-critical approach to this in line with their values and that’s something to be applauded

Sure. The existence of that kind of bad faith defence doesn’t detract from my point

Boycotting everything and swearing at people who don’t might make you feel better but it’ll have naff all other impact
November 18, 2025 at 7:03 PM
Ok so what are you doing other than a) nothing and b) yelling at people trying to do something
November 18, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Things can be true (or truth-adjacent) and still antisemitic. Well done to the OP for recognising that there are ways to stand up against genocide without going down that particularly unpleasant route

They’re in government FFS, like even if you believe they’ll never win power again do you want to abandon any influence over what happens in the next 3.5 years?

You’ve perfectly encapsulated my issues with people who carp from the sidelines rather than trying to make parties better. Sometimes changing things for the better means you have to ‘sully’ yourself by engaging with people who don’t meet your high standards

I find the idea that the right response to institutions having undesirable tendencies is to abandon those institutions to undesirable people….unhelpful
November 18, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Right and who’s going to do that overhaul if all the good people have left?
November 18, 2025 at 6:38 PM
Abandoning major parties (or minor parties for that matter) to the fascists is a terrible idea. People doing the relentless and painful work of trying to pull them back from that deserve our thanks

It took over 6 years of campaigning to get in place, but now ..around 2km of street space, across 3 roads filter what was once 800 cars per hour from creating road danger and pollution around the school.

Now all these kids.. have safe and healthy journeys to school.

👏👏👏👏
