With the upcoming CR/appropriations bill for #HHS, can Congress include a provision to remove all the current members of #ACIP and the anti-science recommendations they've voted on? 🤔

@doritreiss.bsky.social Is this possible?
December 7, 2025 at 2:02 PM
@democrats-appropriations.house.gov The upcoming appops bill or CR for HHS should include: 1) striking all recommendations from the current #ACIP 2) removing the current members of #ACIP; and, 3)reinstating previous members.

Congress needs to rein in this anti-science committee! #HHS #CDC

Restef Levi, Robert Malone, Evelyn Griffin deserve NO peace at all. Throw FDA quack Tracy Beth Hoeg in there too.

I hope people protest at their houses, their places of work, and they are publicly shamed wherever they go.
Name names. Shame on all the ACIP members who voted to strip the recommendation for the birth dose of the HBV vaccine. Call them out. Give them no peace. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/05/h...

I really enjoyed the evidence-based takedown of Pierre Kory and Steve Kirsch, notorious anti-vaxxers and grifters by Professor Dave and @debunk-the-funk.bsky.social Great watch!

The sartorial choices for Robert Malone at ACIP are indicative of the death of evidence-based science. Is he really wearing a black suit and black tie (funeral attire) two days in a row? Ugh. #ACIP

Someone needs to ask them to name the stakeholder groups!
#AHIP member Vicky Pebsworth answers question about why the urgency to revisit this policy now, given its success.

She said, "We were aware that there was pressure coming from stakeholder groups wanting the policy to be revisited."

Robert Malone is that guy that says we have 20 minutes left and proceeds to “um, um, [repeats the question], let me clarify what you’re saying, um, um, oops, we’re out of time.” Just terrible facilitation on purpose.
RE ACIP meeting today: I've sat through better run grade school student council meetings.

I really want someone to ask the committee how they will feel when their recommendations kill children. 🤬

Yep, and the meeting is going to be held in the literal basement room of the building that has auditoriums explicitly designed for public meetings.
Heads up to @tarahaelle.bsky.social @ddiamond.bsky.social @angierasmussen.bsky.social
Just heard from an inside source at the CDC that NO staff will be presenting and/or allowed in the room for the ACIP meeting tomorrow and Friday. There will be zero experts in the room.

WTH???
DOGE is at again. Yes, DOGE is still a thing. It didn’t just disappear with Elon.

A DOGE leftover, Sam Beyda, is now rumored to be sleeping and showering (eck!) in the CDC Director’s suite. This started during the shutdown. Weird? Right?

Same with the CDC Library, which has been around since 1946.
surprised there hasn’t been more discourse around the illegal firing of NCHS leadership, including those in vital statistics.

Welp—CDC’s entire data team for its legendary national health and nutrition survey (NHANES)—our health census—has been laid off. Now we are flying blind to nutrition and chronic disease status in the U.S.—is this supposed to help us be MAHA? www.statnews.com/2025/10/14/c...
CDC team running top survey on health and nutrition is laid off
NHANES has collected data on eating patterns, diabetes, and other common diseases for decades. The CDC team that runs it has been fired.

CDC is not a Democratic or Republican agency. It's an American agency. One in three employees have been lost in recent months. This is dismantling of our health protections, not reform.

No, we haven’t gotten any word about a rescission just yet.
Anyone know if CDC Library firings were rescinded? Can’t find anything on their status

Congress needs to demand transparency re these CDC firings and what happened. I don't think "miscoding" is the reason nearly 50% of those fired were rescinded. Maybe it was the public awareness that programs like global health, suicide prevention, and measles response were being eliminated...
No one knows what is happening. Now, we are hearing some of the CDC RIF notices might have been in error.
Error = Miscoding

Where are we hearing this? Through media of course! No one is being transparent with CDC staff.

We continue to track the cuts. Stay tuned.

I can't get over how the CDC layoffs are coming less than two months after the attempted mass shooting. The agency is being taken apart brick by brick. The public servants there do not deserve this.

The library is still RIF’d, too. 😢
OOOPS! UPDATE: Two HHS officials tell me that disease detectives, measles response officers, global health officials and the MMWR staff were laid off by mistake and will be reinstated. But Washington office is still RIFed
BREAKING: Friday night massacre underway at CDC. Doznes of "disease detectives," high-level scientists, entire Washington staff and editors of the MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) have all been RIFed and received the following notice:
