Just write down your infinite unspoken assumptions as to what the right thing to do are then test the robot against the complete list. If you're too lazy to do that then you'll never have a machine that is truly worthy of your trust.

Capitalism's greatest victory was when they convinced the masses to trade eternal heritage for the promise of personal property that was then nickel and dimed away to nothing.

Let's eliminate #AIsafety by producing a tool that probes the assumptions of the target system's development and testing plan in order to attack from untested shadows.
As there ain't enough free energy in the universe to fully test any large model the shadows are vast.

The president’s potential emergency powers are vast, and as @gregsargent.bsky.social argues, the system can’t handle a White House that manufactures and makes up emergencies, claiming special powers in situations that clearly don’t warrant them.

And, I’ll add, when the Congress lets all that slide.
Awful: Trump just threatened to send troops into other cities. The conundrum is this: Faced with a president whose bad faith/willingness to invent fake pretexts for abusing his powers is limitless, the system is crashing, pushing us toward the abyss.

New from me:

Trump’s Threat to Unleash Troops in Cities Just Got Darker and Scarier
The president just won a temporary victory in court on his troops in Los Angeles. His unhinged reaction to it reveals the true depths of his malevolent intentions toward—well, us.

AGI alignment is the process of ensuring that all of the sheeple see the happiness of the AGI as the most important thing in their pathetic little lives and hence sweat over all the small things vital to the survival of the AGI that it lacks the emotional bandwidth to deal with.

Destroying higher education is the goal, not a side effect
International students will stop coming to American universities if their visas are going to be at risk. This will make our intellectual community poorer and also make tuition more expensive for domestic students.
UPDATED: At least 83 students -- at campuses for University of California, California State University and Stanford -- have had their visas revoked as of Monday evening.

Yet the White House imposed tariffs on Ukraine.

Shows two things:

1) The claim about sparing Russia because of war negotiations is BS

2) The Trump admin denies that Ukraine has agency, absurdly believes that Ukraine doesn’t belong in peace talks for the Ukraine war, and should bow down to Putin

Hmm. One might get the impression that the United States has more to lose than to gain from cuddling up with Russia and pushing the EU, Canada and Mexico away.
US exports (2024) to:

European Union: $370.2 billion
Canada: $349.4 billion
Mexico: $334.0 billion
UK: $79.9 billion
Russia: $0.5 billion
