Eventually, a small group of rebels found it, looking for any ship that flew. A Fledgling Republic Shipyard poured over her, an old forgotten frame, but filled with modern tech. She was relaunched and finally Christened R.R.W. Osprey. No longer a testbed, but a defender of her people.

Then the Star Empire fell. Romulus and Remus burned.
The mothball yard was abandoned in the chaos, and for years she was left to sit silent in the dark. It seemed an long, unending fate for the ship, but not *everyone forgot the existance of the yard.

She would serve quietly, used to test tech for the new warbirds, and later test upgrades for them without risking the incredibly expensive behemoths. She was eventually stored in Mothballs, and forgotten.

The final Deatra left the shipyards not as a warship, but a testbed for this project, a platform to prove her successor. She wasn't even named, only designated Hull Zero.

A ship that would not win by agility and numbers, but by the same strength the ambassador embodied. A ship that could engage four Ambassador Class at once and win.
It was called Project: D'deridex

The Deatra class, was insurmountably, a failure. Who would fear them when a lone Starfleet ship could kill three? And it was forever the symbol pf Romulan deceit and treachery. A new flagship was needed. One that could turn the tide.

Furthermore, the Enterprise's sacrifice had turned the oh so fragile Khitomer accords into an alliance forged with blood. The Federation's Flagship had went down in defense of Klingon Colony, fighting to her very last, and exposing Romulan treachery in the process.

In the Empires projections, two of the far more agile warbird should have been a match for the lumbering exploratory cruiser. Instead the final survivor of four was being evaluated for structural damage, with discussions of withdrawal.

A lone Federation Starship had went toe to toe with four of the most advanced warbirds the Star Empire had to offer, and had held the line. No matter an Enterprise had fallen, she had ripped out the Deatra classes throat as she fell.

The last warbird took some of the Enteprise's crew prisoner and left, technically victorious, but in reality?
it was the most crushing defeat the Star Empire would suffer that century.

The Ambassador was outnumbered, outgunned, and out manuvered. by all rights she should have fled. Instead she fought, even as she burned. Three of the four warbirds would fall before the Enterprises guns fell silent.

Unfortunately, as so often happens in Romulan history, the Federation ruined their plans. The Ambassador Class U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-C heard the distress call of a Klingon Colony when 4 Deatra class had been sent to destroy.
