Do not mess with librarians. They let complete strangers borrow their books. For a living. Even the hardcovers. They are so much stronger than you know.

So! How can you ruthlessly cut w/o feeling like you've lost the plot?
(I once turned in a 75K bk that was supposed to be 45K. Trust me.)

The funny thing about writing fiction is it’s like leave me alone I’m trying to solve a HUGE PROBLEM for these people who do not exist who I made up and put in this scenario
