“What the hell do you mean I actually have to take recovery into account to properly understand my weekly fitness performance!?”
I say as I rage against senescence, aging and dehydration.

I dunno what else would happen if you did this but I do think it would effectively ensure that the 2026 House Dem caucus is less “reconstruction 2.0” and more “Blood for the Blood God”.

The Spanberger Revolution of Dignity continues apace, limited only by her ambition, after all.

All I’m saying is that if I am to synthesize the mood of this website and my understanding that it is the minority leader’s job to be loathed and hated during a rebuilding year as a unifying coalition force, he’s your best candidate.

Warner not choosing to retire and instead have Kaine take the hit rubbed me the wrong way, not going to lie.
There’s rumors (I have no idea how true) that Kaine is considering retirement in 2030 anyway, but even so.

Listen, just make Fetterman minority leader until 2026 and be done with it.

Also goes some way to explaining why the 'solutions' coming out of the administration are inconsistent and come across as intrusive thoughts more than policy.
... because, well, you know.

I think the baseline takeaway should be that it probably won't negatively impact dem's chances in 2026 but it may materially impact what makes up 'dems' in the first place given intraparty dynamics.

Apply this lesson as broadly or specifically as you feel necessary.

not for nothing, there was a crisis of masculinity after WWI also - the sacrifice of the human paschals whose blood was sprinkled on the lintels of Europe was forgotten in the pursuit of the aesthetics of a masculine ideal that inevitably lead to more war, more deaths of the innocents.

Yep, and once you identify it as that it makes a lot of sense.
Unfortunately, this is a dynamic actively playing out in (I don't think this is an exaggeration) hundreds of communities in the US and there are consequences to public safety that aren't... great.

I did some contract work for a county where I was the only ALS provider for the county and our average transport time was around 90 minutes or so one way.
I only ran three or four calls a shift there but I was *running the wheels off my unit*. Just on the road for intercepts all day.

Yeah, that tracks with a lot of combination systems. I bet you know what kind of calls are liable to get a full response from the vollies and which ones are likely to get re toned too.
Folks will show up for the big things, but the grind… man, the grind of the everyday is tough on vollies.

Oh, I was thinking broadly for all 911 calls but for this sort of things it’s especially bad.
