Holy shit they did it. New Glenn becomes just the second orbital class vehicle ever to propulsively land the first stage booster. Basically, a 50m tall tower with rocket engines landing on a football field in the middle of the ocean. Amazing.

This doesn’t get old. New Glenn, the 98m tall rocket, takes off toward Mars. It is powered by 7 BE-4 engines, each with 550,000lb of thrust. It will reach a top speed of ~17,500mph to escape Earth’s gravity, sending its satellites 60 million miles over the next 11 months.
