Holy shit they did it. New Glenn becomes just the second orbital class vehicle ever to propulsively land the first stage booster. Basically, a 50m tall tower with rocket engines landing on a football field in the middle of the ocean. Amazing.

This doesn’t get old. New Glenn, the 98m tall rocket, takes off toward Mars. It is powered by 7 BE-4 engines, each with 550,000lb of thrust. It will reach a top speed of ~17,500mph to escape Earth’s gravity, sending its satellites 60 million miles over the next 11 months.

Ah that makes more sense. I see lots of people ride the 52 all the way to the end so excited for the benefits the hub will bring. Thanks!

Is the sentiment here that ridership is lower south of Harding? I’d be interested to see if there’s data on that

We’re not full, we have infrastructure problems. Nowhere is full. Also you’re probably not from Nashville originally so shut up

I heard there’s also some bus bros there

For sure. It’s about 35 lbs so I’m sure you could find lighter, but I’ve already had to load it in and out of the car multiple times no problem

So I just got this little guy that I can easily load onto the bus, and I feel like the entire city has been unlocked for me now

Which also speeds up the buses, if drivers never have to have a confrontation with riders about paying their fare

Are those first 2 numbers perigee and apogee?

One pushback I see is that changing zoning and just allowing developers to build higher density (4+) doesn’t mean they will, and that often they’ll just replace 1 SF with 2, still in the positive on this chart. Are there methods to encourage higher density beyond the zoning change?

Something something facts and caring about feelings, I think
