In the foreground close to the camera is an arch, the right side is an arch of bricks, the left side has a trestle covered in vines. Through the arch gardens can be seen, with rows of small plants and flowers separated by gravel paths and hedges. In the distance a line of trees demarcate the start of a woods. Above the tree line a pale blues sky contains bright white low clouds that almost look like the tops of distant mountains.

A moorhen and it’s chick swim along a pond’s surface. A moorhen and it’s chick touch beaks as the older teaches the younger to find food.
