I see too much of this online to dismiss it entirely, but my daughter is a senior in HS and every single friend of hers I have met has been informed, incredibly active in the community and very, very good at just getting their shit done without having to be nagged.

Feels like there is always a grift available somewhere. I view this and the Cuomo campaigns the same way. They didn't really care if they won, but we're happy to suck up donations to redirect to friends and family for 'services'.

what's "funny" is when I see this stuff covered by the press, the idea that regulatory capture and corruption is directly responsible for poor security standards/hacks, isn't even a concept that shows up anywhere on the page

According to political media rules (starting January 2025) if a candidate wins they are allowed to do anything they want as long as it was vaguely in front of voters.

Rs: Make up a new issue that gets national traction every week and ride those fake issues to sweeping victories.

Ds: We must carefully poll people to see what they already believe and then tell them exactly what they want to hear. People famously love politicians that tailor messages this way.
