Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.

Imagine the uproar if this money was used for something other than cars
£16 billion straight down the toilet. Yes, £16 BILLION. Think of what else we could do with the astonishing costs of the Lower Thames Crossing, which will simply worsen congestion and ruin people's quality of life.

A typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, and most of the energy that does, moves the car, not the people.

Hearing people say closures are because 'no one goes out anymore' but I think this shows there's a much wider problem than that.
