Just because you can doesn’t mean you should
Letters A-C comprise only 11.5% of the alphabet yet teams starting with those letters comprise 40% of the English premier league. Makes you think really. #epl #PremierLeague

I'm rewatching Adam Curtis' latest, 'Shifty' again. It really is rather splendidly good.
It's all on YouTube too if you're not in the UK.

The series was based on the Oscar-winning short "Bob's Birthday." You can watch that here. (warning: Bob gets his dick out in a nonsexual and embarrassing way a little over halfway-through.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-it...

Germany gave people €1,200/month no strings attached.

They kept working, slept better, switched to better jobs, and even gave more to others.

Turns out, when people aren’t drowning, they swim further.

Right 1. If you go through the main door of someone’s house (and they have a kitchen door you could use instead) they’re not friends, they’re acquaintances. No exceptions.

"Pictures... showed a small group holding placards reading "I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action"."

And they were arrested under the Terrorism Act. If this is accurate it should terrify everyone about what it means for peaceful protest.

1. Don't snitch-tag.
2. Don't explain to people what they just said.
3. Don't "correct" people's jokes.
4. Don't respond seriously to silly little posts.
5. Don't respond trivially to obviously serious posts.
6. Don't "jocularly insult" people you don't know.

The rest is commentary.
People should have to pass a social media etiquette class before they’re allowed to purchase a smart phone.

A couple of weeks ago I informed the (adult) kids that I was resigning from Father’s Day. My dad always hated the enforced regard and I don’t want them spending on tat I don’t want. So far this has been the best one I’ve had for years. Recommended. #fathersday
