Decided to rewatch "In the Mouth of Madness" (1994) today. What an '80s soundtrack!

I remembered the changing painting & the old lady, but I didn't remember *Charlton Heston* being in this!

David Warner has the no-nothingest, throwaway role. Sam Neill was great, as per usual. Creepy & fun.

John Mitchell (Aidan Turner) from the 2008 BBC "Being Human" series (Mitchell is a vampire who rooms with a werewolf and a ghost, while they all try to live as normal a life as they can, which, it turns out, is not very.) Dante Gabriel Rossetti (Aidan Turner) from the 2009 BBC miniseries "Desperate Romantics". Brown frock coat, moth-eaten striped waistcoat, and a direct stare that is absolutely pure sin. This series was about the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood romping around London in big shirts, trying to get laid.

The box for my Dr Van Helsing action figure, a reproduction of the Horror of Dracula poster. At the bottom it says “Van Helsing Ultimate Action Figure” Peter Cushing as Dr Van Helsing from “Horror of Dracula” action figure! Comes with two extra heads, three extra sets of hands (two gloved) for grasping, a stake, hammer, cross, and two candles! Plus, a removable overcoat, underneath which the figure has his sleeves rolled up for the night’s foul work. The back of my Dr Van Helsing action figure, showing all the action poses!

Here’s my cats:
The Great Whale, She of Large Belly and Little Brain, Esper, asleep with her eyes wide open (because she apparently loves to scare the fool out of us.) She is a tabby with a fair amount of orange in her coat - make of that what you will. Blessed Valentine, our sweet elderly tortoiseshell baby (17 this year!), all curled up like a bagel, desperately trying to ignore the fact the I wouldn’t stop bothering her.

Peter Lorre as Joel Cairo in "The Maltese Falcon" (1941) - he plays a con man and snappy dresser searching for the legendary jeweled falcon. He was in his 30s when this film was made, and his deep-set eyes and curly hair lent him a very 'boyish-but-experienced' air.
