The GDPR gives "data subjects" (me, but not you bc u American) rights, and provides nation states the legislative ability to punish "data processors" (companies that use our data) if they ignore those rights. But the AT Protocol and Bluesky as an entity are providing those rights. So good stuff!

Honestly, if you understand the GDPR and the AT Protocol you'd see that it almost seems designed from the ground up to obey the GDPR and provide me with the 7 rights that it specifies. The GDPR isn't inimical to decentralization

How so? The privacy policy seems to have been written to obey the GDPR (UK GDPR in my case) and gives me my rights under that legislation: bsky.social/about/suppor...
