As an autistic scientist, I always feel outraged at the obsession over WHY people have autism: these studies pathologize autism and frame 'undesirable' behaviours as something to be cured, and I cannot think of any reason why anyone would do that that other than eugenics.

In my Microbiology PhD I'm having to learn a lot about things that are not microbes and it's kind of stressing me out - but it's also kind of exciting!
