Sheep for Geese 🐑🪿
On Tayvallich Estate, our sheep are playing their role in nature recovery – helping thousands of wintering geese find the food they need to thrive.
By grazing the grass to just the right height, they keep the land perfect for these migratory visitors from Islay and beyond. #birds

Beautiful animals, difficult choices.
At Tayvallich Estate (as in Bunloit), many trees show signs of deer damage. Bark stripped, saplings grazed.
Without predators, deer populations have grown far beyond balance.
Listen to Estate Manager Ewan Paterson’s view on these animals.

Game-changing climate ruling. “The opinion is not formally enforceable, but history shows that once law and science align in this way, social licence can evaporate very quickly. Think tobacco. Think asbestos.” @jeremyleggett.bsky.social in @reuters.com

The international court has fired the starting gun on climate accountability
Last week’s advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) is a gamechanger in the long-running global struggle to limit greenhouse-gas emissions. The court’s 15 judges unanimously ruled that governments must act “with the highest ambition”, compatible with the Paris goal of limiting global heating to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
